I got my start in tattooing from working in the skateboard industry.

In the 80's, doing graphics for skateboard companies, album covers for local bands, publishing indie comics, as well as pursuing skateboarding in general.

While recuperating from a serious broken ankle, I used my down time to really focus on things like drawing.  At that point I changed focus and art became my main interest.

Ironically I ended up getting my start at a tattoo shop that was owned by a friend who also used to skate for Alva.

            Tattooing is how I spend most of my time. The other couple hours; I hang out with my wife, paint, work on freelance illustration projects, travel, do artshows, and occasionally cruise around on my longboard.
